Facebook to add “Green Screen” editing tool for its content creators

Facebook wants to provide a new tool for its content creators, that is, “Green Screen”. Facebook is testing the new tool so that it can be added. The new “Green Screen” tool will allow facebook users to add any video or image in the background of their Facebook Stories. This option is very much similar to the one available on Instagram already. But, in facebook, it will be available as an editing tool for the app, whereas on Instagram it is available as an AR filter or effect.

This tool was spotted by Mamun Billah via Social Media Today. As per the screenshot shared, the user can see the option in the stories section. The user can choose a photo or video from the Gallery section. When the user chooses the option, from the screenshot shared, you can also see the tool labelled as “GREEN SCREEN by Instagram” at the bottom.

This feature was also available in the short videos creating app, Tik Tok, which was banned by the government last year in India. Recently, twitter also started to experiment with its own background tools for Fleets. Talking about facebook’s “Green Screen” tool, there is no confirmation about the new feature being tested from Facebook or its possible rollout in the future. However, if facebook adds this feature, then certainly it will give new options to the content creators to use their creativity.

Earlier this month, Facebook rolled out the ability to create Reels (short video) on their platform as well. Facebook has also announced that it is testing a feature for Instagram content creators in India that lets the creators share Reels on their Facebook account as well. The Reel will also be recommended to users on Facebook if the content creator has a public account.
